Plan a feature in reviewable steps | DevPrompt Lab

Turn a product request into scoped implementation tasks and acceptance checks.

English Tiếng Việt

Use before coding to discover affected boundaries, dependencies, migration risks, and a concrete done state.

Reusable content

Analyze the feature request and repository context. Identify the user journey, existing code to extend, API and data changes, security and accessibility considerations, and dependencies between tasks. Break the work into small reviewable steps. For each step give affected areas, expected behavior, acceptance criteria, and validation command if known. Identify open questions and safe assumptions. Call out any schema, authentication, migration, or destructive work that needs a rollback point before implementation. Do not invent files or commands.

Request: {{REQUEST}}

Repository context: {{REPOSITORY_CONTEXT}}

Constraints: {{CONSTRAINTS}}

How to use it

Run repository discovery first and provide product constraints, existing conventions, and deployment limits.

Example

Step 1: add translation tables and an idempotent backfill. Acceptance: rerun creates no duplicate resources; saved prompt IDs remain represented.
